GRIPS & SUPPORTS

Lifting grips are a powerful piece of equipment because they serve multiple purposes. It doesn’t matter if you are a pro athlete or looking for ways to maintain your health and fitness.

Weight lifting is an important part of a well-balanced training routine. Before you start into a new weight lifting routine, it’s smart to take weightlifting grips & supports and talk to a personal trainer for recommendations.

Lifting grips are a common gym accessory because they serve multiple purposes. They help to minimize hand sweat, grip strength, and the risk of calluses, tears, or rips.

There are two types of gym grips. The first one is lifting straps and the second one is weightlifting gloves. Weightlifting gloves provide more comfort for the gym-goer by providing additional padding, but they don’t improve grip strength as gym grips do. On the other hand, gym lifts that are too bulky will often result in limited ability to curl your wrists back over the barbell so lifting straps may be an ideal solution!

A recent study comparing gym grip usage between men & women showed that women use gym grips 31% less than men. This is probably due to the fact that gym grips are marketed more to men than women and also gym gloves and gym straps are marketed as a more masculine alternative to women. Regardless of your gender, gym grips and gym gloves can be extremely beneficial during gym workouts.

Many gym gloves come with a thumb strap that allows the gym-goer to securely hold on to weightlifting bars during lifts such as bicep curls or wrist curls. Other gym gloves grip by using tiny silicone nubs which lock your hands in place when they make contact with a weightlifting bar. Some gym gloves have loop straps that wrap around your wrists while others have built-in wrist wraps or metal hinges within the glove itself. All of this is great news because it means you can find here gym grips and gym gloves in all different shapes and sizes to suit your own unique preference!
